The Day is Drawing Near

Well ya'll, the day is quickly drawing near, we are just a short 3 days from departing for South Africa.  We have been enjoying our time with my family here in FLA, we have been hitting up all of mine and Lauren's favorite food hotspots.  For those of you who are wondering, we will be departing from Orlando International Airport on Saturday at 6:30 a.m. (Nashville Time). We are supposed to arrive in Johannesburg on Sunday at 10 a.m. (Nashville time).  We appreciate all the prayers and supportive words.  We look forward to reading your responses to our blogs.  Hopefully, we will be able to write something that you will be able to respond to in more words.  We love you all and we look forward to sharing our stories.

First leg of the trip.... Done!

Well, we have arrived in Florida safely.  It took us about 11 hours, which is a little longer than usual, but none the less, we made it.  I am proud to say that we made it here in just one stop, that includes gas, food and potty breaks.  Lauren toughed out the last hour or so for me.  It is HOT here in Palmetto and I don't miss the humid air.  My mom will be making my favorite home cooked meal tonight, hamburger steaks!!!  So excited!!!!  Anyways, just wanted to let you know that we made it safe and are looking forward to our time here in FLA.  Thanks again to all who were able to come over and help out yesterday, it was such a blessing.  Love you all and we will post when we arrive in South Africa. 

Less than a week and counting...

Well, Lauren and I are less than a week out from departing the states for our 2 months of service in South Africa.  I was told by some friends that I needed to add a post, because it has been so long since my last post.  We have been extremely busy over the past few weeks, it is hard to believe that we are packing for Africa.  Please share your thoughts with us on the blog page, we sure are excited to read what you have to say.  Again thank you all for your donations, encouraging words and most of all you prayers.  We look forward to sharing this time with you.  We love you all.

The time is drawing near...

Each day, we are one more day closer to leaving for Africa for our 2 month job trial with Thrive Africa.  We have already packed one bag and it is already in FLA, waiting for us when we leave.  We are flying out of Orlando, so we transported one large bag to my Mom's house so we had one less bag to pack.  Lauren and I are so very excited, but at the same time our hearts are heavy because we love our church and most of all our teens at TCC.  Please continue to pray for the church as they search for a new youth pastor.  Our prayer is that they will not be long without a youth pastor.  We are preparing a letter to send out to everyone, so stay tuned into your mailbox.  We love you all and look forward to sharing our stories with you over our blog page.
